Before founding Hartnick Communications, Elliott was Executive Director of Development Communications and Donor Engagement at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where she:

  • Oversaw teams of digital marketing, publications, audiovisual, donor stewardship, and event communications professionals.
  • Conceived and implemented a broad vision for using multi-platform marketing and communications to strengthen relationships with donors while reinforcing the hospital's brand and supporting its $2 billion Capital Campaign.
  • Partnered with senior vice presidents, division and service line leads, gift officers, and other stakeholders to create fundraising proposals that helped generate over $500 million in philanthropic revenues.
  • Established a unified and branded style for all development communications, including proposals, outcome reports, magazines, stewardship books and videos, online appeals, and the collateral and signage for 80 annual donor events.
  • Helped lay the groundwork for accelerating online donations by elevating the content of nyp.org/giving and the functionality of the online event platform.

Previously, Elliott built and led Hartnick Consulting, a boutique consulting firm that provided strategic communications and marketing services to nonprofit and public sector clients, including Carnegie Corporation of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Macaulay Honors College, the New York City Department of Small Business Services, NewYork-Presbyterian, The New School, United Way of New York City, and Weill Cornell Medical College. Representative projects included:

  • Development communications and event logistics: Planning and providing on-site management and developing event collateral for the 2004 gala celebrating the launch of NewYork-Presbyterian's Billion Dollar Capital Campaign.
  • Marketing and fundraising strategy: Developing strategic marketing and fundraising plans for United Way of New York City's Nonprofit Leadership Development Institute and United Jewish Communities.
  • Online communications: Providing strategic advice to Carnegie Corporation of New York and 27 of its grantees, in addition to creating three sites for the corporation itself.
  • Public relations: Spearheaded the public relations outreach for Picture Projects' Sonic Memorial Project, which resulted in placements in the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and Wired News, as well as on ABC News.
